Episode 112: Absurd in Arizona: Last minute comebacks highlight the most ridiculous week in football

Football turned surreal and we were there for every twist—one of us literally running on Paris time. A 21–3 hole morphed into a 16-point fourth-quarter surge, a ball was dropped before the goal line, and an interception somehow became a touchdown the other way. Tennessee-Arizona wasn’t just a wild ending; it was a masterclass in momentum, situational football, and how one mistake can swing a season’s narrative.

We break down why certain teams thrive in chaos while others crumble. Tampa Bay keeps stealing games in the final minute because they’re comfortable in condensed decisions. Denver flipped Philly by letting the pass rush dictate the script and daring the Eagles to win without the run. The Texans’ demolition of the Ravens revealed a defense ahead of schedule and an offense catching up, while Indy’s three-phase competence showed how a special teams play and a steady QB can turn a Sunday into a rout. We also examine Sean McVay’s OT decision against the 49ers, what it says about coaching identity, and how aggression can be right even when it fails.

Quarterbacks shape this story. Cam Ward’s last drive felt like a franchise arriving. Hurts played efficiently in a game that exposed balance issues. Darnold’s one late mistake cost Seattle a thriller. Carson Wentz rediscovered rhythm in London. And Cincinnati’s move to Joe Flacco is a bet on vertical timing, seam shots, and locker-room calm while they weather the storm. On the college side, UCLA shocked Penn State and Florida stunned Texas, underlining how explosives tilt both emotion and math on any field, any weekend.

If you’re tracking bets or fantasy, we surface the edges: late-game variance teams, tight ends in Miami as target magnets, and rookie running backs edging toward bell-cow roles as pass protection stabilizes. Stick around for our Week 6 lens—travel traps, night-game noise in Kansas City, and which lines feel honest versus bait. Hit play, send us your hottest takeaway from the chaos, then tap follow and drop a five-star review so more fans can join the banter.

SPEAKER_00:

Welcome to the Big Cahoons football podcast. This is episode 112 here. This is Hawaiian Brian, one half of the Bit Cahoons, aka Trust Process, aka Otter Event, BKA, your girl's favorite podcaster on the low. I am going solo dolo here, and this episode has been several days in the making, literally. Um, we're gonna have that boy Floyd, who is not with me right now, but we did connect um uh several days ago. Actually, he is on assignment in Europe as we speak right now. So um trying to uh get a recording time has been pretty challenging, but he did stop by with instant reaction on one of the most wildest games in recent memory in the NFL. We're gonna have that uh coming in in a few moments here. I also um just want to give a shout out to Slade from the DFL. He actually was a uh guest host, uh contributor uh when we recorded the other night, but we did run into some technical difficulties um from my end and his end. Uh just so happened that at the same time of recording, um, I had uh heavy rain um that was coming through the Honolulu area, and there was an overnight storm that was going through Slade's location in Wisconsin. So um that was kind of a a challenge to undergo, but uh really appreciate him, nevertheless, here and hopefully we can get him on um very soon in the upcoming episode. So it's just gonna be me over here, and let me tell you something NFL week five in the year 2025, probably the wildest, craziest, stupidest set of games um that we've had. Um, but before we get into that, just want to give uh quick shout-outs to Careless Detroit here, who has been a supporter of the podcast. Uh, shout out to Jay Dolan's Irish Pub, um the number one go-to place for watching sports, having a few drinks, and New York style pizza. Also, um, just want to um encourage you guys to check out the podcast here. Um, you can also follow us on Instagram for more updates on Show Times during the week. Please like, share, and subscribe. And don't forget to show us that five-star love on your favorite podcast app. You can also now give us a quick text by hitting the link in the beginning of the episode description on uh Spotify and I believe other podcast uh avenues, you can do that too. So if you don't get through us through our socials, um you can definitely uh hit the quick link and let us know. And um, we did have um a couple people chiming in, so just want to give uh love uh Slade again. Uh thanks for shining us out on Spotify and giving us that uh five-star love. So um much appreciated. We're gonna go to uh myself and that boy Floyd. We kind of did an emergency podcast of sorts that occurred right after the second slate of games uh this past Sunday. Uh right after the second slate of games, that will be the uh 4.20 p.m. Eastern Start Time games and it uh prior to the uh New England Buffalo game. So just to kind of give you context of uh when this happened. So I'm gonna put that in right now here. Enjoy as of myself and that boy Floyd, um, himself in Europe and myself here in Hawaii. Enjoy.

SPEAKER_03:

What's up, everybody? It's your boy Floyd, aka That Boy Floyd, aka Pretty Boy Floyd, aka Hurricane Floyd, aka Passport Bro, Floyd, aka What the fuck did I just watch? Dude, listen, and I'm so happy you don't know what I'm about to say. This is the main I am literally calling. I just touched down in Paris, I checked in. We were down 21 to 3. I was we're I was eating, I was like, let me eat. I ate the restaurant at the hotel. It was 21 to 3. I was like, okay, let me go watch the second half from my room after beeping in to make it think I'm in the US so I can watch the game. Check this out. This is unbelievable. So we're down 21 to 3. I don't know if I'm gonna get the sequences right because I'm really tired. I don't think there's no time difference from Rome, but I just had a heck of a week in Rome. We're down and we we Gord. I don't know. I don't know the sequence of events. But Cam Ward threw an interception. The guy catches it and he falls on the ground and fumbles the ball without getting touched. We pick it up in the end zone. Tyler Lockett falls on it in the end zone. That's a touchdown. I don't know if this is the complete sequence of events, so please don't get mad at me. But in the end, we go to kick the extra point because we're down 21-13. And and uh our 21, yeah, 21-13. We down the we go kick the extra point, and we miss the fucking extra point. So it's a nine-point game still. Then oh my gosh, hold on, because I just I wrote it to fucking stat boy. I was so I was so blown away by this game. Listen, listen, listen. Hold on, you gotta hear this shit because I typed it in here. Oh, before that happened, before that happened, DMarcardo breaks a fucking 70-yard touchdown run, right? Right. He drops the ball before crossing the end zone. He did the Deshaun Jackson? He did the Deshaun Jackson, dude. This has like happened like three times this year so far.

SPEAKER_01:

He drops the ball, right? AD Mitchell, now DiMicardo. Oh my god. Crazy.

SPEAKER_03:

And then I did. I think it was the interception touchdown. Before that, Kyler Murray has the ball. I mean, they Arizona has the ball. They hike the ball, hits Kyler in the head. Hits him dead in the face. Right. If we recover the fumble, I'm like, what is going on? Then it was, yeah, so the D Micardo run, then the fumble by Kyler, and then the interception fumble touchdown. God. And then uh Pollard got one also, right? He got a touchdown. And then uh what happened? We we stopped him with like a minute to go, and then Cam Ward turned into motherfucking Steve McNair. This dude was throwing so many fucking good pass on this. The it factor showed up. The Miami, no defense, we're always down, but we're gonna win this game. Cam Ward showed up. Right. Calvin Ridley got hands all of a sudden. He throws like a four, we're on a 20-yard line because we stopped and they punted. We're at a 20-yard line, we're down by two because we missed the extra point. So it ain't like when we scored, we could have gone for two to tie it. So we're down by two. And fucking uh he drives 80 yards. He throws like a 40-something yard pass. I want to say it was 40-50. You have to check my numbers on that later, but that is a beautiful dime into Calvin Ridley's hand onto like inside the 20. Pollard runs it and runs it to the four or whatever, inside the five. And then we it's 21 seconds left or something like that. Arizona's defense is completely standing up, D-line everything because they're like, we're just gonna let him score because Arizona has all three timeouts. We have one. We say, fuck you, we just take three kneel downs now. Joey Sly has missed two field goals, and one of them being an extra point today. He's missed five field goals over the last two weeks or some shit. It's something crazy. And I'm just like, why don't you just let Pollard score? That's what I'm thinking. They're gonna give it to him, bro. They're showing it right now, and then uh, and so Joey Sly kicks the field goal, makes it, and Tennessee got their first win.

SPEAKER_01:

I'm just seeing this right now because I just reached home, folks. Yeah, this Hawaiian Ryan here jumped on the call. This is live. I'm in Hawaii. That boy Floyd's in Europe right now, somewhere. Now it's just how the score that is crazy. So just to put a ball on this, this ain't no BS on this one right here. Floyd is right. 16 unanswered in the fourth by yes. He couldn't even make this stuff up. It's too good. Hollywood could make this stuff up. I don't, I don't know what this dude. I'm like, I don't know what I'm just what I just watched.

SPEAKER_03:

I'm texting my boys, and I'm like, because they're hitting me up and they're like, man, this is the worst offense ever in Tennessee history, blah, blah, blah. I mean, we're down 21 to 3. And I'm like, yeah, this is just so depressing. I'm just so I'm just laying in this bed in this in Paris right now with crazy jet lag. And I'm just like, okay, yeah, this is brutal. At least the burger was good. I had, you know, at the hotel. The burger was really good. I had a burger. I had a rephrase. I had a royal cheese.

SPEAKER_01:

And so I had a royal cheese.

SPEAKER_03:

And then all of a sudden, dude, it just turns. The craziest sequence of plays in that second half and that in that fourth quarter was just oh my goodness. 70-yard run, and he just drops the ball. The interception, Cam throws a pick, like a clean pick. The dude caught it, fell on the ground, fumbles it. They everybody tries to jump on it. Hot potato. It just squirts. One of the uh, and this is the funny thing. So one of the Arizona defenders accidentally kicks the ball as he's trying to get it, and it goes, it goes into the end zone. Now you may think you can't advance a fumble. Actually, you can, but it didn't, it didn't advance because at that time Arizona's defense now has possession, so it's going the other way. You can fumble backwards, you can't fumble forwards. So they fumbled backwards into the end zone, and Tyler Lockett falls on it. And I'm like, this is how we get a touchdown. Okay. That's stupid. Bro, it was just insane. And I'm like, okay, we might make a comeback, and then we missed the extra point. And I'm like, what the fuck? Now it's two possessions, too, with three minutes to go. What the fuck is going on? I just don't know.

SPEAKER_01:

That the the crazy thing, folks, with um, you know, just to kind of put a ball on this too, and uh before Floyd um speaks uh further, remember Dmarcado. If he actually scored that, they would have been up by 22 points at least.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah. So that was the nail that'd been a nail in the coffin.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03:

That'd have been a nail in the coffin. Uh that's crazy. That is Tennessee's not not windless anymore. Arizona of all Arizona, Arizona. Now listen, here's the crazy thing. I fucking was, I was I look when I when I touched down, because you know it was like the airport apparently is an hour away from Paris. It's like outside of Paris. So I'm in this Uber looking at stats and stuff, and I'm like, it's like, I don't know, maybe three, four minutes left to go in the first. And Marvin Harrison already has 78 yards receiving. I'm like, oh, on three, I'm like, oh my goodness, this is gonna be one of these games. Like they're already up like 20. I'm telling you, they're up 21 to 30. I'm like, they're just dominating us in the beginning. And I'm like, okay, whatever, dude. Let me go, blah, blah, blah. And that was the only offense they had. They had zero offense after that. Zero. And the announcers are saying they just keep letting Tennessee hang in there. It's like, this is weird because their office was, they look like they're about to come out and just do everything to us, and they haven't done anything in. Didn't do anything. I don't know how much longer the records are going on, but I am going to say this. Uh, the other thing that was crazy that I watched kind of the end of, because the second games, was the damn uh Seahawks and fucking Bucks.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah. Oh, that was a prime game.

SPEAKER_03:

That was an amazing game, man. If you don't know, back and forth, back and forth. It was a shootout. Uh the Bucks ended up with a walk-off run because pretty much it was whoever had the ball last. It was one of those games. Whoever had the ball last was gonna win the game. And Seattle looked like the team that was gonna have it last. And they turned around, and Sam Darnold threw a who had an amazing, amazingly efficient game, um, threw a pick on the 40 on their own 40-yard line. So Tampa Bay got the walk-off touchdown. The other team that I don't know what happened, uh, and I saw how the fuck did Philly lose that game? They were up, right? They were up, and I'm like sitting there eating my burger, and my notification comes through, and it's like Denver snaps the Eagles. I'm like, what?

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, that crept up.

SPEAKER_03:

AJ Brown with the best defensive play ever just bro, what is going on? And George Pickett's making Sauce Gardner look like garbage. What is what is going on in this league today? Out of this year, I have no idea. And then hold on, that's not the only team that lost their zero win streak. The the are you telling me the fucking Saints beat the Giants?

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, I mean, thanks to a couple of uh fumbles for the uh Giants side. Yeah, that's it. Won by Cam Scadaboo, like yeah, Cam and Dart Fumbling.

SPEAKER_03:

Man, the Saints won?

SPEAKER_01:

The Saints won.

SPEAKER_03:

I lost that pickup. I definitely lost that pickup, dude. This is an impossible year right now. Pure chaos is going on. That's right. They're showing stuff right now. Like, I am so this is a Rashid Shahi uh fucking and then hold on. Rico Dado had 200 yards rushing?

unknown:

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

I'm so pissed, so pissed, man. Chuba wasn't playing, man. That could have been Chuba.

SPEAKER_03:

Bro, I'm going I go to Europe and like all hell breaks loose. Like, this is unreal. Uh and I'm I don't, I don't, I don't know what's going on. And I can't talk loud because I'm in the hotel room, and again, it's like one for 140 in the morning in Paris in Paris. So nobody knows what I'd be screaming about. I could dude that game, that Tennessee game was so wild. I couldn't, I didn't even scream or anything because I didn't know what I was watching. It was just foot. Yeah. It was insane. It was a lot of blowouts this year, this week, I guess, apparently.

SPEAKER_01:

I mean, the Texans took the Ravens a butt whooping.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, well, yeah, that's other the Ravens are. I saw a stat line that popped up on my Instagram just now. The Ravens are on point, uh, on pace to give up the most points ever in a football season. The Ravens defense?

SPEAKER_02:

What?

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, like 600 and something points. They're on pace for that. Is everybody scoring 50 on these guys?

SPEAKER_01:

40, 50 points on them? Yeah, yeah, it looks like it right now. Now I look at it. That is nuts.

SPEAKER_03:

I am so confused. That's nuts. Yeah, they're on pace to give up the most points. Stat boy's been giving me some stuff, so shout out to him. He's been hitting me up. Bro, what the fuck is going on? Yeah. I just don't know. And hold on.

SPEAKER_01:

Y'all beat the Chargers? We beat the Chargers, and we're down 10-0. Should have been down 13 or 17-0. And then we uh finally caused the turnover, first turnover of the year, and then we went 27 straight on uh the Chargers on the road. What? And then uh yeah, and we we didn't even play our best game. We were slapped.

SPEAKER_03:

We watched some of that game, and y'all look like trash, not trash, but y'all just didn't look good. No, we did not look good. Like didn't move the ball. Like, y'all just didn't every time I saw y'all, y'all were in your own end zone. Like, yeah.

SPEAKER_00:

The Chargers, there's something wrong, obviously. I mean the offensive line uh injuries caught up with them.

SPEAKER_01:

Uh I mean Von Miller looked like prime Von Miller. He got it a sack and a half today in only 30% of the snaps. So yeah, yeah, it's it's freaky Sunday. I've been freaky week five. Well, this is this.

SPEAKER_03:

We're not done. Hold on, because that's I see you're still recording. Nico and UCLA beat the shit out of fucking Penn State.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, that could be the biggest upset. What the fuck? Yeah.$8 million Nico right there. Check it out.

SPEAKER_03:

What they beat Penn State with no office, no coach, no offensive coordinator, no defensive coordinator. Yeah, that dude had never called a play in his life. Did you see what that dude looked like?

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, right on the case.

SPEAKER_03:

He don't even look like he's good at Madden. They beat the shit out of him. And wait a minute, Florida won a game, beat Texas.

SPEAKER_00:

I mean, you know, the the the Archmanning fraud case, I mean, strengthens. I get it. I get it.

SPEAKER_03:

I get the Archmanning fraud case, but Florida is absolutely garbage.

SPEAKER_01:

Hey, what coach Billy Napier? There's something about that guy. You can't kill him off, man. You put him on the hot seat, he he he responds somehow. I don't know.

SPEAKER_03:

This is the gun, they're in the middle of their gauntlet right now. Yes. They've lost everything else. They beat Texas. Texas has so much talent on that team that they could get past uh oh boy, um Arch Manning stuff, but Arch Manny just basically don't have to turn the just don't turn the ball over. I don't know any of the stats or anything into the in those games.

SPEAKER_01:

And stuff, you know. I mean yeah.

SPEAKER_03:

Was there another upset too in college? I was at work yesterday. I know Vanderbilt lost. Uh was it Alabama?

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, I mean they hung around, but Bama kind of turned it on at the end. Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_03:

But um, who else? Like dude, this is like an insane thing of football, man. Like I who can pre- Listen, if anybody out there is making money on parlays, I'm specifically speaking to the parlay players. If you're making money on parlays, dude, you need to be playing Powerball and Mega Millions and whatever else. Because this is I d uh all analytics, all uh sort out the window. Everything, man. Like though all that stuff, traditional football, all that get rid of all of it because it doesn't matter. None of that, like you can't make sense of anything. How the fuck did they lose to 0-4 UCLA? UCLA is I didn't think they were gonna win a game this year. Penn State, the highest paid defensive coordinator in football.

SPEAKER_01:

That's right, two million dollar man, right? For Ohio State.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, he's the highest paid defensive coordinator in the game. They have a good listen, they you can say what you want about them. They have a good defense.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, I mean, that's always been the calling card for Penn State because uh Drew Aller sucks. Yeah. I mean, like dude, bro, what the fuck?

SPEAKER_03:

What is going on?

SPEAKER_01:

About UCLA average over five yards of pop on the ground. Again, eight million dollar man, Nico, 128 on the ground, three touches.

SPEAKER_03:

He's more in the Nico is only making one million, one point something million. I don't know why you're saying eight million dollar, man.

SPEAKER_01:

No, no, but no, I just want to be like why do you want it from Tennessee there?

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, oh that's right. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, like so.

SPEAKER_03:

They fire all those coaches, and all of a sudden you see how he wins. I'm like, oh my gosh. All right, it's the biggest wool over everybody's eye. They don't think it's Deshaun Foster's fault, and it's not.

SPEAKER_01:

No, yeah, it's not Deshaun's fault. No, good guy, Deshaun.

SPEAKER_03:

Deshaun's a nice guy, yeah, yeah, yeah. Wait a minute. Are the Colts the best team in football?

SPEAKER_01:

Like, what is going on? They took care of business. Um I mean, yeah, the Colts need to be taken seriously. I uh to be honest, I I am not taking it as seriously as you are, but I have to take them seriously. I mean because when you're putting up three score quarters consecutively, they got a 20 spot in the second quarter, come on halftime, another 20 spot against the Raiders. I mean, yeah, dude. Gotta take them seriously. And Carson Wentz? Hey, I was I was up for that that uh European game because that was afternoon for you, and that was 3 a.m. for me. It's uh uh Quench on Junkins, I believe.

SPEAKER_03:

You believe in him now, huh? Yeah, like dude, this and and I believe in Bill.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, Bill Krosky Barrett.

SPEAKER_03:

Like, bro, that dude, he runs so funny, but yeah, it fucking works. And and book is uh Buka the best receiver in football.

SPEAKER_01:

I mean he's he's he's in my top five right now, dude. What? Yeah, what is going on? Stebbing 163 and a touch, yeah, Unreal.

SPEAKER_03:

Who just traded in the league for Ridley? Ridley just had five for 131. So he got traded, really. He just got traded in the league.

SPEAKER_01:

Uh probably Slade got him. I know. I think I think Nick has him. Oh Nick has them? Oh, okay. Shouts out to Nick and Slade. Shouts out DFL.

SPEAKER_00:

Alrighty, we're back, folks. Um, again, shouts out to that boy Floyd for giving up his uh time. I believe that was close to 2 a.m. in the morning. I think that's what you mentioned earlier. So much love, much sacrifice, and also probably paid a hefty sum in roaming charges for that to happen. So we made sure that we got that in there before I do my kind of my solo um summary on the rest of the games um for week five of the NFL. Uh, before we get to that, we're gonna take a short break here. Um, go to the bathroom, get your popcorn, do what you gotta do, wash those dishes, and then we'll be right back here on the B side of the Abic Owners Football Podcast, episode 112. So, week five here, folks. Um, so we're not gonna go with that same uh flow, even though we rarely use a script anyway. We just have thoughts on a piece of paper and we just kind of go through with it, right? So I I would do a disservice if I couldn't get an episode out, even though we have faced a few difficulties, like I mentioned earlier. In fact, out of all the matchups in week five, um, six games were decided with two minutes or less. Two minutes uh or less, so that's a regulation overtime included. So just wild games. And the way I'm gonna do it here is I'm gonna go game by game. I'm gonna do my best here to just kind of give a rough synotes uh synopsis of the games. We're gonna start off here with let's do San Francisco and the Rams here, if I can uh get that up here. Um, just that game was pretty wild. Starting things off on the uh Thursday nights. Usually Thursday night games have been kind of underwhelming uh traditionally, but uh not this game. Two division rivals, and then went down to the final play. Sean McVay had an opportunity to tie the game in overtime, decides not to decide to run Kyron Williams again on fourth and one, and he was stuck uh by the 49ers uh right at the 11 and 12 yard line. So just uh just a tremendous plays there. Um again, Kyron Williams was the ball carry on that he fumbled previously in the contest, but um again, there was I believe three. Minutes and change, three minutes, 40 seconds and change in the overtime period. So if the Rams elected to go with the field goal, that would have uh tied the ball game and give San Francisco three minutes and change to uh respond, right? So maybe the Rams um didn't want to go with a tie, knowing that they probably wouldn't get the ball back, decides to go with Kyron Williams, and why not? I mean, he's definitely a weapon. Um, just the San Francisco defense. A San Francisco defense were not a lot of stars these days, but they were definitely resolute and stuffed Williams um to walk off a fourth quarter, or excuse me, a fourth down um stand walk-off style in overtime. Uh that's tremendous. San Francisco, because of that, are now four and one, the Rams at three and two. We're gonna talk about uh more records as far as who are contenders and pretenders in the upcoming episode. Uh, we're actually a few weeks overdue uh to do the pretender contender episode, but there's just so much craziness going around. Um, whether we made declarations in week four, five, or six, I don't think it would really matter. Um, it's just craziness all around, right? So that was a Thursday game. Now, uh, before we get to the uh Sunday games, uh myself, uh Floyd, and uh Slade, we've had conversations off camera or off microphone, I should say, off the recording studio, uh, about just the craziness of the football weekend. So uh college football was just crazy. Uh Florida, uh coach Billy Napier on the ultimate hot seat somehow um pulls off a huge victory against Archbanny in Texas. It was in Gainesville, but still, yeah, Texas was well favored in this contest. Florida, everyone got him uh left for dead pretty much. And so uh that happened, and of course, Penn State making the John over to the West Coast, uh losing to UCLA 4237 in the shootout. Uh, none other than UCLA quarterback, the$8 million mana was a likely joke for Floyd. Nico Yamaleava should get that name. You're a Pacific Islander like myself, better get that name right. Nico Yamaleava uh ran for three touchdowns, 130 yards, nearly 10 yards a carry, also threw two more in the air. Um, pretty much all the hype that he came in as a freshman going into uh Knoxville. Um he definitely displayed that in the upset victory against Penn State. And there were several other games in the college scene that were oddities, just had a weird vibe um during the week. And of course, um former uh uh USC quarterback, um NFL quarterback, and current commentator Mark Sanchez uh getting into a altercation involved him getting stabbed and ultimately ultimately excuse me, um being charged with a felony um for attacking a 70-year-old. Uh so that was crazy. Um that this occurred in Indianapolis, the very site that he was gonna do um that Sunday game on TV. Um I'm not sure if he's part of CBS or Fox, doesn't matter anymore because he is without a job at this point. So um from butt fumble to felony, right? Yeah, didn't uh have that on my bingo card for week five. So that that was happening, and now we get into the Sunday slate starting off with the earliest of games um occurring in London on the field of Tottenham Hotspur, um Cocoys, uh Ghostburs. Uh that was the uh Vikings and Browns uh contest again. This was one of the games that was decided within the last two minutes. Great back and forth affair. Uh Minnesota uh led by Carson Wentz, right? J.J. McCarthy is hurt. Carson Wentz um didn't start off too well, but it was good um back and forth, right? Um, in which uh Minnesota um got the ultimate uh final response. Carson Wentz throwing to Jordan Addison. Uh it was a two-yard touchdown, I believe, uh with just 30 seconds left in the fourth quarter. They pull it off 21-17. Uh, a couple things with Cleveland, Dylan Gabriel making his NFL start uh debut. I believe he was the first quarterback to have his uh NFL debut um not in America on on foreign soil. So uh shouts out to Dylan Gabriel, of course, a member of um of the 808. Much love for him. Um did pretty well, and also quit Sean Junkins. Um, if you don't believe in him before, you best believe in him now. Well, tremendous runner got all that uh hoopla in the offseason taken care of, I believe. I'm not sure if there's any more follow-ups um uh as far as legalities are concerned with uh Junkins, uh, but on the field between the white lines, just tremendous, uh big burst, and you could kind of see this uh Browns team uh you know getting pieces, right? So uh Joel Flacco, we'll get to Flacco um uh in a few moments, uh being that this recording is uh done on Wednesday morning, right? So uh a lot has passed since um my conversation with uh Floyd on uh Sunday evening and oh well Monday morning for Floyd, obviously, and with uh Slade, which was done Monday night after the Monday night game, Jacksonville, Kansas City, which we'll also talk about. So uh yeah, Cleveland got got some good parts, and they're kind of in a weird timeline where they're they want some um new incumbents, want some um fresh blood to occupy key spots on the offense, such as quarterback or running back, but at the same time, they paid Miles Carrot that money. Uh, so it's that weird balancing act, maybe two timeline thing if you golden state warriors fans, you know what I'm talking about. Uh where you're competing with um trying to win now, but also at the same time making sure that um you have the feature intact, especially on the offensive side of the ball. So um that was pretty huge. So Cleveland um able to get their uh second victory. Um excuse me, not their second victory, they lost this game. I'm gonna cut that out, or maybe not cut that out. Why not? We'll just go one take, right? You know how we do it here on the Big Women's Football Podcast. Again, please like and subscribe. Uh give us that five-star love over at your favorite uh podcasting uh venue. Alright, so uh let me get to um bring up here. I want to make sure I got my ducks in a row over here. Uh, yeah, so the Vikings with that victory three and two on the season, the Browns dropped to uh one and four. Um, maybe since I'm doing the uh individual games, I should mention about um some of the betting that was involved in this one. The Niners uh was able to easily cover the eight and a half points, which was crazy. If you betted over for the uh Rams and 49ers at 43 and a half, then you were the winner. So uh Vikings and Browns, uh Minnesota was able to cover in the last 30 seconds. I guess is that a backdoor cover? Um, gotta get that terminology down. But Minnesota was able to cover the three and a half points, and also because of that uh late touchdown. If you bet over at 35 and a half, you were a winner. So that must have been a sweat for you for you uh betters out there. We'll go to our next matchup here, Texans, second victory of the season, a huge statement victory, or maybe statement defeat uh for the Ravens, Texans 44, Ravens 10, Houston was favored, folks. So let's not be surprised about the Texas winning. They were favored by two and a half points on the road. Uh, if you got the over at 41 and a half, congratulations. Uh, this is more, of course, of Ravens trying to salvage their season now at one and four without Lamar Jackson. They've suffered tremendous injuries, and in fact, they were involved in a deal around 24 hours ago uh between them and the Chargers. Umwe the uh rush end who actually was in talks as far as um uh possible targets for contending teams who needed an edge rusher. Uh so Owe goes to Los Angeles, and in return, there's some picks that get swapped. I'm not gonna get into that, but as far as the player in return, um it is Aloy Gilman, another um person for the 808. Aloy Gilman, I believe he played in Notre Dame at safety. He will now be one of the um hitters on the Ravens. I think um the way he plays really fits uh the Raven style, but at this point, they need all hands on deck, especially in that secondary, which has been torched. And in fact, the uh the numbers kind of have shown that uh the Ravens, as far as them you know giving up points, uh I believe they have now allowed uh 35 or more points in four games, uh, most such games in the season in team history already, and Baltimore became the first team in the Super Bowl area to era rather to allow 37 plus points in four of the first five games. Not good, not good at all for the Ravens. Um yeah, they're on the brink, they are on the brink. Um they tried to get Derrick Henry involved, that didn't work out. I bet if there's one thing that you cannot question about the Texans, that is their defense, and they really came to play. And uh, if you're a Texas fan, you have to be pleased that the offense are caught up, right? And all you haters out there saying, well, Cooper Rush was playing for Baltimore, blah blah blah blah. Yeah, I mean injuries happened, that's that's the way it is, and the Texans took full advantage of that again. 44-10 over the Ravens. Uh again, Houston covering the two and a half as road favorites, and um the Dover hit easily at 41 and a half. Let's move on to another game that was part of the sixth contest that was decided uh with two minutes or less is the Panthers at home at uh beating the uh hapless Miami Dolphins 27-24. Uh Panthers now at 2-3, Dolphins struggling at 1-4. Uh Carolina, they were uh road um underdogs, or excuse me, home underdogs, rather. They covered the uh one um plus one, and because of that uh late score by the Panthers, um the touchdown extra point um was able to put that total over at 44 and a half. That's what the number was set. So again, just like the Browns game, this game uh went down to the last second straight up and also for um Betty Nodd. So just uh a tremendous contest. Three lead changes in that uh Carolina Miami game, in a game in which Miami was dominating in the beginning, but couldn't keep it together uh at the end, unfortunately, uh for the Dolphins. Three lead changes in the last six minutes and ten seconds of the final quarter. So um a runaway game that uh ended up where Carolina had a great push in the second quarter to uh bring things uh within a touchdown going into halftime, and uh Carolina led by Rico Dowdle. Rico Douado 23 carries, 206 yards, and a touchdown. Uh also got three catches of 28 yards. He was a fantasy king for week five, or one of the fantasy kings. So big victory for the Panthers as they pick themselves off of the bottom of the division. Um, now at 2-3. A lot of questions for Miami. Uh, life without Tyree Kill here. Tua Tango Bailoa, another game in which he performed uh very well statistically, 75% completion percentage, 256 yards, three touchdowns, no interceptions. Uh yes, he rarely throws the ball past 10 yards, but um, that's for another conversation. No running game for Miami, but it was Jalen Waddle expectedly to take over wide receiver one duties in Miami, and he has not disappointed in the last few contests. Also, the rise of the Phoenix, aka Darren Waller, five catches, 78 yards. Um, it has become apparent here in the last two seasons that if you are a tight end in the Miami Dolphins offense, um, you are going to get a lot of targets, and that is very fantasy worthy. If you haven't known that, most likely you are on the bottom of your fantasy league. Because that is pretty much common knowledge if you pay attention. So uh we can move on to the uh next matchup here. Uh let's see what we got here. Uh, we have the Colts and the Raiders. Quickly, we'll we'll go through this game. This game was 40 to 6. The Colts just um doing a BTA job on the Raiders here, taking care of things at home. Yes, Mark Sanchez got whooped. So did the Raiders here in Indianapolis. Uh yeah, we asked a question in the last episode are the Colts for real? Uh, at that time, that boy Floyd declared Colts as one of the best teams in the NFL, and um, he's not wrong, they're still keeping on going here. Um, I think one thing with the Colts that you um have to uh tip a cap to is all three phases, offense, defense, and special teams are doing their thing here. Um they were able to record a block punt, um, they got an interception which created shortfields for the offense, and Danny dimes talking about uh rising Phoenix. Yep, he is definitely that guy in Indianapolis SQB1. Um, just uh bad news talked about special teams. I know this was a person that was hot on the waiver market for the past couple weeks. Spencer Schrader. Um he was hurt um attempting a kick, and he is out, uh, I believe for the rest of the season. So uh be aware um to find a replacement for Schrader at uh placekicker because it looks like Indianapolis can't stop scoring, right? So they're doing their thing. Uh Jonathan Taylor doing Jonathan Taylor things again uh as a runner and receiver, and so um the Colts have won three games by 20 plus points in 2025 after having zero such games from 2022 to 2024 combined, and zero wins by 10 or more points in the 2024 season. So the Colts are for real, especially in a division in which they probably uh well they have one contender. We're gonna talk about that contender um later on the podcast, but the Colts off to a 4-1 start, and um don't lie to yourself, you didn't think the Colts are gonna be this good, right? Right? Yeah, we'll let that sink in. Next matchup here, we got a battle of um the New Orleans Saints who were winless coming through this contest, was hosting the New York Giants. It is the Saints that come out ahead 26 to 14. Uh I believe this is Spencer Rattlers' first NFL win. Yep, not counting preseason. So, hey, congrats to Spencer Rattler and the Saints, who are now in a precarious situation as far as trying to get that number one pick in the draft, which I thought they were aiming for. It's a long season, we'll see what happens. Uh, Rattler acquitting himself. Um, you know, he's not only playing for um keeping his job as a Saint, but maybe for a feature team. So you gotta think this is an audition for him. 21 for 31, 225 yards, one touchdown, no turnovers. And uh highlighted by an 87-yard bomb to none other than Rashid Shahe, uh, one of my favorite players, and also a uh deep lead fantasy darling. So targeted five times, got 114 yards on four catches. Chris Olave targeted at 11 times, 7 catches, 59 yards. So even though the Saints are not gonna win games, they do have people that are fantasy relevant. Uh Alvin Kamara, 27 yards on the ground, got four more catches, 28 yards for people who care. And the Giants, they were um pit in by the turnover bug, especially on key fumbles by Jackson Dart and Cam Scatable. Um, but even though the Giants at one and four and with album leaked neighbors, um, this is a great opportunity for uh some new pieces to emerge. We mentioned about Dart and Scatabol as uh quarterback one and running back one uh respectively. But how about uh Dio Johnson? Two touchdowns at the tight end position, uber talented athletically. Um, but we'll see if he can round out his game, and he is definitely on his way after this. Scatterboo also got six catches for 45 yards on seven targets. Wandale Robinson five catches, 30 yards on seven targets, so it was a rock fight, but uh good for the Saints to get their first victory at home 26 to 14. Uh Jackson Dart, I know he came in as a hot topic. Um cooled down a little bit in this contest here. Um did see uh a couple throws where he should have gotten to the receiver, just given some time. Um, but just the hope and excitement uh surrounding these young pieces for the Giants, excuse me, uh are um are uh uh focal points of hope here. As if you're a Giants fan, you have to traverse through a long um 2025, but uh the future is bright that that can go for the uh New Orleans, also. So uh Rashid Shaheen, um they've measured him at 21.7 miles per hour on his 87-yard catch. Fastest speed reached on a touchdown in the 2025 season. So um good for one of my favorite uh wide receivers. Also, the Giants became the first team to commit a turnover on five consecutive possessions in a game since the Jets did so in week three of the 2016 season. So a lot to work out here for the Giants again. Both teams um now at 1 and 4. Uh, we'll go over to the Meadowlands. It is that team, the uh Cowboys, with a comprehensive victory 37-22 over the New York Jets. The New York Jets led by defensive guru Aaron Glenn at the helm, still without creating a turnover, and I'm sure that is really stuck in his crawl. Um, meaning he's a defensive coach that does uh praise big plays on the defense, right? He schemes up really well, uh, but he does have bigger problems, right? When you are the head coach, when you are the CEO of your team on the field, uh he has a lot of things that he needs to attend to. Uh, we'll talk about the Cowboys real quickly over here. Dak Prescott, yes, gotta believe in Dak. Um, even as a commanders fan, sometimes I can't even understand why he has so much hate. Uh, maybe he's just an easy target to Paula on here, but um cyber bowling aside on Dak Prescott, um, he's definitely finding that connection with George Pickens now at a receiver one, uh, thanks to the injury of CeeDee Lamb, Javante Williams, 16 carries, 135 yards, uh, highlighted by a 66 yard run. So um huge day. And also, Pickens was doing a number on Sauce Gardner also, so just a couple things to uh point out here, and just the offense, Justin Fields, um, not the answer, never was the answer. You hope that the other um pieces on offense, such as their Gary Wilson's and Brees Hall's in the world, uh, was gonna do it, but Brees Hall, uh, two fumbles, one lost in this contest, and you never want to be a running back with a history of fumbling uh because that will definitely hurt you not only in fantasy but also in real life. So that's what it is. Um let's see. Next gen stats here that uh uh pulled up here, Javante Williams uh for seven miss tackles and gained 76 yards after miss tackles both season highs. Um he also generated 92 yards after contact, attributing to his 357 yards total after contact on rushing attempts this season, the second most in the NFL um entering uh Sunday afternoon. So good on him. Also, for you Cowboys fans, you probably already know this. Javante Williams became the fifth Cowboys player with five plus rushing touchdowns in the team's first five games of the season. Joining the likes of guess who gonna let that uh sink in for a few seconds. If you guessed Ezekiel Elliott, DeMarco Murray, Emmett Smith, and Grant Hill's father, Calvin Hill, you are correct. Alright, so moving on to another matchup. This was uh part of two contests in which uh a team was trailing by more than two touchdowns, but came back in the last quarter to cause an upset. That's what the Denver Broncos did against the previously undefeated Philadelphia Eagles. In fact, the Broncos scored 18 in the last stanza to defeat Philadelphia 21-17. And some of you probably have talked about it already, uh, or may have brought it up in the uh chat room, but Bo Nix in the fourth quarter is a different animal, and he definitely had proved it. So this could be one of those victories for uh Denver. Remember, they started 0-2, but as we talked about here on the pod, uh we were not worried about Denver. Um, you know, they their defense can carry a team, and the offense can be afforded that time to kind of catch up, right? And certainly they have done that. Bonex, 242 yards, uh, one touchdown, no picks, off of 39 pass attempts. J.K. Dobbins, 20 carries, 79 yards, and a touchdown. Uh so he is within that uh Belkow. I know RJ Harvey's getting a lot of um looks, not on the field, but as far as um in the fantasy world, as possibly um getting himself into getting more carries as we get into the second half of the season. We see that a lot with rookies over the past couple years, just give them time um until they kind of get their shine. And we'll talk about a few rookie running backs um as we go through the pod that is experiencing that right now. Cordler Sutton, one of my favorite players, uh one of the uh many receivers that I've let go off of my DFL squad. That's why I'm where I'm at. 10 targets, eight catches, 99 yards, uh, also with a long of 34. Um Evan Ingram, uh, quietly uh being a very effective piece at the tight end position. He had a touchdown also, uh, four catches uh off of six targets. So talk about Denver. Philadelphia, uh, it seemed uh to me, and I I think uh people have been talking about this already. If we haven't mentioned this in the pod, uh Philadelphia came in undefeated uh 4-0 into their contest against Denver. Uh but you never really felt that they've had all systems firing, right? So uh you expect that they're gonna kind of work themselves out of some uh kinks and become that uh machine that they were in the latter part of last season. One of the few oddities, if you are a box score jumper, um, that is me, someone who can't watch all the games live, so you know you try to discern how the game uh turned out to be by looking at stats. Sometimes numbers do not lie, and for the Philadelphia Eagles, only 11 carries as a team for 45 yards. Saquon only six rushes for 30. He did get three catches, 58 yards, and a 47-yard touchdown reception uh off the wheel route. Uh, but just very uh weird uh game script, I guess. They were leading, but they only carried the ball 11 times. That is not Philadelphia Eagles football. Although it is encouraging, if you're an Eagles fan, to see Jalen Hurts slinging the rock and win it effectively. Uh 23 for 38, 280, and two touches, no interceptions. He did get sacked six times, uh led by um NFL uh league leader in sacks and Nick Bonito. He had two and a half sacks in this contest. Uh this is uh a vaunted uh line, offensive line for Philadelphia. But the way I look at it, they are a vaunted uh uh line more towards a running game uh due to their physicality and the way they can work as a unit. But so Sometimes, if you can provide um really good coverage and make Jalen Hurts hold on to the ball, this is what happens. Everybody knows that the Broncos again scoring 18 in the fourth quarter to defeat Philadelphia 21-17. And now making things a little tight in the NFC East. We'll move on to our next matchup over here. Let's actually, before we go to the next matchup, let's see here. If we have any uh stats here, uh we mentioned before that the Broncos had 50 sacks coming into Sunday's game. They added six more, as I mentioned earlier. Uh so now 21 sacks in five games. Uh I do not know offhand what the NFL record is, but they are a squad that are good for 60 sacks. I think they can hit that mark by the end of the season. Um, already, if you look at their indivision uh rivals, they are facing lines in which you can get to the quarterback, especially the Chargers and the Raiders. So that's something to look forward to there. Now, in this next matchup here, um I'm uh this is the uh Titans gain the first victory of the season, beating the Arizona Cardinals uh 22-21. Um just one of the craziest games, and so crazy that uh myself and that boy Floyd uh went on an emergency pod with uh Floyd being in Europe. I believe he was in Paris at the time of this recording a few days ago. Um, again, I'm gonna play this out for y'all, uh, almost in its entirety, and forgive um Floyd, especially if um he is uh the shock and the rawness of uh what transpired because when he called me, it was moments after the final whistle. Again, uh Floyd was able uh was um probably eating at least a quarter per minute in rowing charges to um to do this emergency pod. So this recording was moments after, so we didn't have all the uh stats lined up, but just the pure audacity of the um events that transpired, uh especially in that uh fourth quarter between those two teams. Uh, one of the most improbable um events that um that have that I've ever seen. I did not see it live, but I did see replays of it. Oh my goodness. I don't think I've ever seen a quarterback, at least in the pro or college level, where they throw an interception in the red zone, and after a few seconds later, the result ends up in a touchdown for the offense. So just craziness um all around, and as Floyd was mentioning um in our uh podcast there that um you listened earlier, um the Cardinals just Cardinal, right? This is what they do, just um sometimes they win in odd ways and they lose more times in the most weirdest ways possible. Amari DeMarcado, 72-yard run. You know the story. He pulls a Deshaun Jackson at the one-yard line. Um, me and Slade, uh, again, we recorded on Monday night, but uh we did have uh multiple technical difficulties. But one of the things that we did talk about was that um Slade pointed out this was the third time already in the pros and in college in which someone um voluntarily um fumbles the ball right as they cross the goal line. Umari De Marcado, fantasy owners of Amari De Marcado, me one of them, um, not in the DFL, but also but in another league that I'm participating in. Um I ended up losing to my competitor in uh that uh fantasy league by eight points, eight points and change, and DeMarcado fumbled the ball, so he didn't really carry a lot a lot of the balls here. So 72 points, you can just imagine it's 7.2 yards for that run alone. I lose the fumble, so that's minus one or minus two, I believe. Uh, and also um I don't score to six points for the touchdown, and also in this particular league, you do have a 40-yard touchdown bonus of I believe two or three points. So you do the math, folks. I laid it out for you. Basically, thanks to Amari Dermarcado, I ended up losing in that contest, and uh now dropping me in the bottom 20% of the league, kind of like how I am the DFL, still um without a win, but that's nor here nor there, right? So I just want to kind of uh bring that up a little bit, uh, just to tell you um, you demarcado owners, don't worry, I feel for you. It's tough. So uh Tennessee, uh one of the things that uh Floyd did mention, and uh one thing that we all have to be impressed with, is that there are a few moments where Cam Ward, number one pick overall in this past year's draft, really showed that he was and will be that guy. Um I believe it was a near 50-yard uh pass of counter really, um, which Ridley was um going full speed towards the sideline, was able to make a catch perfectly placed. Um these young quarterbacks, folks, it's almost that uh you know you're not gonna get that full body work. Not everyone can be Jaden Daniels, right? As far as having continuous, consistent, um um tremendous play throughout uh a rookie season, but you do see it with Cam Ward, just the different uh traits, especially um creating a play out of the pocket. I know that hurts him a lot of times also, but just his placement um of uh tight window throws. Um sometimes I wish that the Titans receivers uh tighten up as far as catching the ball um throughout the season, but just tremendous. That last drive, um uh a lot to have hope for. And it almost seems, in my opinion, that sometimes with these uh younger quarterbacks, that if you have a situation like a two-minute situation, you got a tempo situation where um you don't have really a lot of time to think. You just go ahead and do your thing. Um, you seem to have a lot more success, and you can definitely inject that confidence, right? That I'm sure Cam Ward um is feeling after this contest. So part of it is a lot of um Tennessee doing their thing again, big comeback. Um, they were down 21-6 with around 12 minutes and change in the fourth quarter uh when the DeMicardo fumble occurred, and they raced back uh to uh take a 22 to 21 uh victory. Um, so so that that's what happened. I didn't want to get into more of the Titans Cardinals because we gave it a lot of shine in the excerpt earlier. So we'll move on to the next matchup. This is another contest that was decided uh with under two minutes uh left here. Great back and forth affair uh between Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers versus Sam Darnold and the Seattle Seahawks. Buccaneers uh four and one uh after this uh victory on the road in Seattle, Seattle dropping to three and two. Um I kind of glossed over the uh point spreads and so forth. Um, I'll get to those just in a second, but for this uh particular contest uh between the um Buccaneers and the Seahawks. Uh this was a contest in which um Seattle was favored by three and the hook. Uh you could get them at three, maybe got lucky at two and a half. Um, so that was a really tight one there. Also, the over-under was set at 44 and a half, so this one was a easy uh win for the overs. But um just a tremendous contest. A contest in which uh Tappa Bay uh jetted out to a 13-0 lead, but Seattle uh came back with uh two touchdowns of their own. Um book almost kind of like book ending the halftime period, so six seconds left. Uh JSN, six-star touchdown, and then Zach Charbonnet coming out of the locker room. Um, you know, you have that double possession, right? Where you defer the point toss. Seattle was able to capitalize with that and jet out to a 14-13 lead. Afterwards, it was a back and forth. Umika Bucko with a touchdown right after, followed by a uh AJ Barner receiving touchdown, then Rashad White to cap off the third quarter. He scores a touchdown, which was quickly responded several minutes later in the fourth quarter with AJ Barner again. Yeah, because so much people had AJ Barner on their uh fantasy uh lineups. Then Seattle uh was able to uh jet out ahead here again. This is where the fireworks started. Seattle with uh three minutes and change left, um, throws to Tori Horton, the rookie for Colorado State. He gets a touchdown, puts them ahead. Then Baker Mayfield doing Baker Mayfield things because under two minutes, Shake and Bake is that dude. Finds Sterling Shepherd for 11 yards, ties the contest, then Sam Darnold threw a crucial interception with under 40 seconds left. Tampa Bay didn't have to um go far to set things up for Chase McLaughlin walking off on a 39-yard field goal. Tremendous, tremendous victory for Tampa Bay, um, who seems outside of the Philadelphia game. Um, when it comes down to a close game, uh, they have that belief and they pull it off here uh 38-35 again. So I don't know what your take would be for a team that keeps winning um close games, right? Usually that is a good um uh precursor to a um a solid playoff run, right? The possibility of a great playoff run because you've been in these situations a lot. So um I don't know if other people have a contrarian view on it as far as you know getting a lot of close victories, but not a lot of uh comprehensive victories, right? So it's a different way, right? Depends how you look at it. I'm kind of more of the former. I feel that a win's a win, and when you win in crunch time, the way Tampa Bay has done it consistently in this young season, that definitely is good omen if you're a Tampa Bay fan. And also uh just well, FYI, if you haven't noticed already, Emiko Ibuka, um odds-on favorite. He has to be minus odds right now in Vegas for offensive rookie of the year. Because uh tell me who else is gonna um catch him up, especially the way Tampa throws the ball. Uh be hard pressed to find out again. Just only five weeks into the NFL season, so still a lot more to play for. Um Buccaneers, before we move on to the next matchup, the Buccaneers became the first team in NFL history with four wins in their first five games of the season, in which they either were tied or were trailing in the final minute of regulation. So, in our theme of uh teams coming back, again, there were six games um in week five in which a team uh won with two minutes or less, right? Where this had a game-winning score with two minutes or less. Tampa Bay, they've been doing it all season long, right? And now in the books in NFL history because of that. Move on to our next matchup here. We got the Joe Burrless, uh Cincinnati Bengals losing to Detroit Lions. Again, the Bengals um came off with uh two wins to start off the season. Then you have the injury to Joe Burrow, they haven't won since. Jake Brownie's not the answer, um, as we thought, or as I thought. I was kind of high on Jake Brownie, to be honest. Been within the system for a couple years and really did well in the preseason. Uh he was able to play with the ones and twos in preseason, and he looked pretty sharp, but that's preseason, right? So um, so much for that. Detroit, especially on offense, really got under stride after a tough start against the Packers in week one. Um, and it's with Jared Goff, he's spreading that wealth around, right? So David Montgomery doing his thing, Jameer Gibbs, Amara Brown, Laporta also getting back into rookie year productivity. Um, everyone except J Mo, Jameson Williams. Um not yet, right? So, but uh I'm sure if the Lions will get a lot of focus on the running backs, you know, Jameson Williams will tear off the defense over the top again, still young in the season. A lot to see from Jameson Williams. Uh Jake Browning, he statistically he did pretty well. Um, I believe the Bengals got some garbage scores towards the end, but not enough. In fact, so not enough that 24 hours ago Joe Flacco um was traded. Um bitter rivals, same division, but the trade happened. Um, there were some draft picks that were swapped also in that. You can check it out yourselves uh for that. So Joe Flacco, now the new trigger man for the Bengals. Uh, what does that mean for the others? I mean, I think there are two outlooks: one in the fantasy outlook. Um that has to, I don't know, to me, I like Flacco a lot, especially on downfield throws. So the receivers, they're gonna cook. Um, I'm sure Chase Brown's gonna cook, and uh low-key, check out for those tight ends. They use three a lot, uh, but I think uh Flacco throws throws that um either that deep sideline go route, but also that seam route to the uh tight end or the slot. So um if you're in deeper leagues and you know you need to patch and play with somebody, um I would consider getting maybe a sample or Hudson or Gasicki at for the tight end position or Andre Yoshiwas. I believe he's still the uh slot receiver for Cincinnati for Cincinnati, unless he got injured that I had no idea of. So that's happening, and then um, you know, the offense is gonna be firing all cylinders for Detroit, but Aiden Hutchinson, he's back and he is uh just doing his thing, so um, you can kind of see his influence, how effective he is, and because of his presence, um, you got people like your Kirby Joseph's Alex Anzaloni's in the world, they're able to ball out, get get some turnovers also. So, so that's pretty huge. In fact, Kirby Joseph, congratulations to Kirby, sixth player since uh 2000 with at least 20 interceptions in his first four seasons. Um, I believe Kirby Joseph led the League in picks last year from his safety position. So good on him for that. Moving on to the Commanders and Chargers. Of course, if you guys uh didn't know already, I have been a lifelong Commanders fan. Um, this is one of their few games that was on network TV, so I was pretty pleased to not having to go somewhere else to watch this contest. Got to watch it from the comfort of my own um phone. It is the Commanders, despite uh being down 10-0 early on. They roll off 27 straight on the road to defeat the LA Chargers. Both teams end up at 3-2. Jaden Daniels was back. That was huge. Of course, his presence uh on not only offense but defensive special teams, he just kind of provides a spark being there, contributing in the contest. Uh interesting thing, Jaden Daniels um was wearing pink cleats to start the game as a nod to breast cancer awareness month. Yes, we are in the month of October, but um they he needed to change off those shoes because he was slipping on a couple scrambles on a couple runs. Um, ever since he did the shoe change, it kind of uh coincided with um a big 27-point comeback for Washington. Uh Kwan Martin, big uh turnover, charred the ball loose for Quinn and Williams on a drive in which the Chargers could not do any wrong moving the ball on their way to a 13-0 or 17-0 lead if they could be in the drive the way they should have. But it uh started things off here for the Commanders again. A huge road victory. Um, they've been alternating wins and losses throughout the season. Uh, they had two wins at home, two uh losses on the road, and now another road game. They were able to buck the trend and get the victory. Um, no Terry McLaurin, no Noah Brown. It was Debo Samuel. If you got Debo Samuel in your league, um at least until McLaurin comes back, and I don't see McLaurin coming back uh for Monday night at this point, at this time of recording. So Debo Samuel uh will have to be your guy, and they utilize him in a lot of ways, um, especially with his uh run after catch ability, like he did in San Francisco. But you did see uh a few times in which you need a critical catch. Uh Debo Samuel was able to be that guy in position, uh running, running pretty good routes, able to get open for uh Jaden Daniels, making a homecoming in Southern California, pulling off a victory against uh the Chargers. Speaking of uh running backs, rookie running backs, um having to give them some time in the system and kind of working, uh ramping up their carries into uh what could be RB1 uh type of uh shares, right? Krosky Merritt, Bill Krosky Merritt, government name Jacori Krosky Merritt. He was doing his thing first 100-yard game um in the NFL in his career, got 39 more um receiving, and uh he provided a lot of uh not only he got two scores, but he was able to move the ball in third down as a pass catcher. That has to be really encouraging, still needs to work on uh pass blocking. I think he is getting a little bit better at that, but obviously you kind of see what um a lot of fans, especially Washington fans or uh Krosky Merit uh fantasy owners have been clamoring for. They finally got it in this contest. He was the main contributor on offense, in my opinion, against Chargers. So um this stat has been shown already, but Jaden Daniels became the first player in NFL history with 4,000 or more passing yards and a thousand or more rushing yards in their first 20 career games. Uh Lamar Jackson and a couple other uh quarterbacks, uh they uh got that feat with 21 career games. So great company for uh uh Jedi 5 and the Commanders. Moving on, uh we have the Patriots and the Bills. This was America's Sunday night game of the week. It is the Patriots again. This is one of the games that um there was a score with under two minutes left. The Patriots on the road goes over to Orchard Park, New York, and steal the victory for the Buffalo Bills 23-20. Uh that was uh Andy Borgales, right? 52-yard uh field goal with 20 seconds left. He also had a uh 50-yard or more field goal to start the scoring for the Patriots. So um just a huge win. Uh Drake May, he had that one throw in which he was in the grasp and fired one off to Stephon Diggs. I meant just that arm talent, the physicality, everything that why a lot of people were high on Drake May, why a lot of people had him as uh number two after Caleb Williams at that time. Uh a lot of people had him even with uh Jaden Daniels as far as their assessment on who they liked at the number two um spot, as history will have it. Washington was the owner of the number two spot, they get JD5, number three was New England, and they get Drake May. So this could be the uh a turning point uh for the Patriots three and two. They've they've looked good uh in some um uh run of play and they look awful in others, right? But this was a huge victory. This could be the turnaround year. Um, again, a lot of uh young pieces for the uh for New England mixed in with a lot of expensive pieces as they had the most cap money um going into the offseason. I believe they still have uh top five cap money at this point. So, and of course, um Stephon Diggs, revenge game. Um, a lot of people, you know, can say this and that about Stefan Diggs as far as the way he goes about things. Uh, probably um at one time was a unanimous pick for the guy that you wouldn't want to have date your sister. If you don't know what I'm talking about, check it out on YouTube. Really funny clip from his days with the Minnesota Vikings. But uh one of the things that was uh really cool uh was that Patriots defense, right? So everyone talks about Christian Gonzalez, but uh just props for the uh Patriots in this contest against the Bills. Um again, forcing turnovers on a Bills team that just uh um committed one turnover through the first four weeks. Um Sunday night Patriots force three turnovers. We got a Marcus Jones interception and formal recoveries by Josh Farmer and Jalen Hawkins. Um shout out to Jalen Hawkins. Um he was able to secure a contract in the offseason, and a week later, he was in Hawaii uh getting married um to his uh longtime um girlfriend, uh turned fiance now wife, and stuff. So um I actually actually saw him um at uh where I was working uh in downtown. Um so congratulations to Jalen Hawkins. Um let's see here. Um Drake May was pressured on 38.9% of his dropbacks, good for 14 quarterback pressures and sacked four times. Um but um as I'm reading here from NFL Pro, he fared well under the rest. May was in fact 7 of 10 under pressure for 72 yards and a plus 20.1 completion percentage over the expected. Um just tremendous. So that was a exciting game. Again, a game that uh went down to the um the final minute, right? And the field was they were uh down by three points. They were driving to read only for the four worthy and defeated anymore. Um I guess this was a very uh only week five and now champagne, folks. And um on behalf of the 1972 Miami Dolphins. Don't worry, folks, um whether you're uh you're just kind of watching down on us. The Dolphins still the only team finishing the season undefeated. So we go to our final matchup, and that is the uh record. You can also now give us a quick text by hitting the link in the beginning of the episode description. So we're gonna do a little uh rapid fire here. I don't want to keep you guys going any longer as much as I should, um, especially if I'm not gonna give uh detailed analysis. What I can do here, again, this is recorded on a Wednesday morning. Um, I can give you the updated odds for each of the contests here. So um hopefully I can be a benefit that way as far as um how you go about uh viewing week six in the NFL. So we'll start with the uh game that's gonna occur tomorrow. Um, Eagles visiting the Meadowlands, uh the Giants for uh Thursday night game. Again, the Eagles atop the NFC East at 4-1, Giants at 1-4. Philly is favored at 7.5 points on the road, over under a set at 40 and a half. This game will be going off at 8.15 Eastern Time, that is 2.15 Hawaii, and you must have Amazon, Amazon Prime, or whatever that is. Stuff I don't have personally, um, but you need to have that with you in order to view the game. Yep, it's how it is these days. Um, moving on down the line here. Uh, we're gonna uh talk about the Europe game here. This is uh Broncos versus the Jets. Um, trying to think of what location they are at offhand. Um, I believe that's gonna be in uh Thailand Hotspur again. So they're gonna host another matchup here. The Broncos versus the Jets. Broncos at 3-2, Jets at 0-5 here. Um, so interesting to see what turns out out of that. 7.5 point faves for uh Denver currently over under a set at 43 and a half. Uh, my inkling for this game, um, this is definitely gonna be under that has been kind of the trend on these Europe games. 43 and a half. I am picking under uh Denver at 7.5. Oh, that's gonna be interesting. Anytime it's more than a touchdown, it scares me. So I'm not gonna give further insight about that. Next, uh, we have the uh Colts and the Cardinals. Colts uh at 4-1 hosting the Cardinals at 2-3, who still probably have to be shaken right now, right? Jonathan Gannon talking about um trying to shake up things, he got fined um 100k for his uh outburst uh on the sidelines, chewing out um Emari DeMarcado uh after the fumble. I mean I mean, I mean human to human folks. Um if you saw that happen, uh I know at that time they were leading by two scores, but oh boy, it's almost like he knew what was coming, right? So, anyway, Colts favored by seven points at this point. Uh, we'll be interesting to see if the line um goes down to see if they can sucker more uh Colts picks um for this. Um the money line right now at minus 350 for Indianapolis. So a lot of people feel strongly about the Colts. I do too. I think the Colts should win. Do they win by a touchdown? Um, I think they do. Um I know earlier I said that I'm not going to comment on um spreads that are more than a touchdown, but at minus seven, I feel that the Colts, they've been firing off and off cylinders three uh phases of play. Um, I feel good about them. Then we got the uh Dolphins hosting the Chargers, the one and four Dolphins versus the Chargers at three and two, slightly reeling are the Chargers, but this could be a get right game for LA. They do have to make that cross-country trip. So the time zone thing could be a factor. Weather should not should be nice and balmy in Miami. It is the Chargers at minus four and a half, uh, road favorites, over underset at 43 and a half. Uh be interesting to see. I think uh one thing the dolphins, you know, they haven't been winning games, but they have been improving in getting to the quarterback. That is something that um the Chargers with their mixed match uh O-line, they have all pro tackles that are both injured for um for a long time. I know uh Slater's out for the year. Alt, um, he is out for a period of time also. So this could be a um situation where maybe the Dolphins they could steal a possession or two um by uh putting pressure on Justin Herbert. That seems to be the uh common strategy, right, uh amongst um the Giants and the Commanders the last two weeks, right? Both were able to get past uh past Russia. So that's that um Dolphins and Chargers. Then it is the Saints hosting the Patriots. One and four Saints getting the first victory against the Giants. They will host another team from the Northeast. It is the Patriots favorite at minus three and a half, over-under set at 46. Um, I have no heads or tails on what's going on with this contest. Um it seems like the Saints were able to get a bit of their stride against the Giants. Uh, we'd be interested to see. Let's see how the Patriots they put out a lot on the line against Buffalo. Is there going to be a let off as they travel down south to NOLA? Uh, next contest uh is a AFC North Divisional rivalry. Here is the Steelers, fresh off the bye week at 3-1, hosting uh the Browns, who uh uh believe Dylan Gabriel. I can't see why not, why he should not be the starting quarterback. Uh that contest is going to be at Pittsburgh. It is the Steelers favorite at minus five and a half, over under at 38 and a half. Pretty low, but um for good reason. Uh uh it'll be interesting to see. Um, my inkling is to go on the under, but at 30 and a half, it's almost teasing you to um see if they could make this a 21-19 contest and have that go over. Because that is a score I am foreseeing for this contest. We're moving on to uh two teams um who found their stride here. The Panthers coming off a very a last-second victory against Miami. They are hosting the Dallas Cowboys who are making their uh trip from Sea to Shiny Sea. They were up in the northeast, now coming down to the southeast. Uh it is Dallas, road favorites at minus three, overunder at 49 and a half. Um, that's pretty interesting. Both teams they can light up the scoreboards. Um, it is begging for a shootout. Um, both team, both sides, uh, defenses not so much. And if you have fantasy players on both sides, uh, you should definitely circle this, put a pin on it, and um put those particular players in your starting lineups. I think is gonna be a shootout. Then we move on to the Jaguars. They at 4-1, they are hosting the Seattle Seahawks, making that trip um from one corner um to the other corner, right? Uh I think mileage-wise, uh, you'll be hard pressed to find a longer journey. So, uh Seahawks 3-2, Jaguars 4-1. Jacksonville favored just by one point here. 47 and a half. I think these teams are gonna score a lot of points. So even at a high um high mark at 47 and a half, I think this this one's going over. That is just my inkling. Uh Seahawks really awful uh close loss to the Bucks, and the Jaguars cheesing off of close victory from the Chiefs on Monday night. So Jacksonville with one one day less. Seattle having to cross over three time zones uh on the early game, it's gonna be very interesting to see. And I think Vegas got it right, it's almost near even Jacksonville um at this point at minus one. Then we have the Ravens and the Rams, sounded really good around eight weeks ago in this contest. The Rams and the Ravens both reeling off of uh losses. Ravens are hosting once more. Um, the Rams favored by minus seven and a half. Cooper Rush, I believe he's still gonna be the quarterback for the Ravens, over-under at 45 points. I will be careful about that, especially um uh a game in which the Ravens are not going to contribute a lot to the over-under total. So very careful. It makes me want to go under for that contest. Uh, I'm not sure about Lamar's status here. Um, it is pointless for me to talk about the what-ifs injury-wise here on Wednesday. Usually that assessment should be done on the end of the week, especially on a Friday, right? So um not gonna be much help there as far as forecasting who's gonna play. But uh the Rams again, road favorites, more than a touchdown. Pretty scary. I'm not sure about that. Now we got the Raiders. Um, they're hosting the Titans. Um, again, that boy Floyd. Uh, this would be a matchup that uh he would definitely be up and early. I think he would have uh had tickets to the stadium to watch this. Uh, I believe um he is still gonna be in Europe at this point uh in his uh on assignment doing globetrotting things. Uh, Tribal Boy Floyd, shouts out to him, of course. Show would not be here without him, that's for sure. It is Las Vegas, favored by four and a half points over the Titans. Um, the Titans was just um down the road in Arizona with that improbable victory that we have talked about in length, over under a set at 41 and a half. Um, that's very curious. The bit uh Vegas at four and a half. That sounds like a lot, folks. Um that sounds like a lot. That's all I'm gonna say. Then we have the Packers off of bye week. Also, they'll be hosting the Bengals at 2 and 3. The uh Joe Flacco led uh Cincinnati Bengals. Uh at this point right now, Green Bay is favored by 14 points over under at 44 and a half. Um, so people are wondering how far did the line move after um the announcement that Flacco um has been sent to the Bengals? The line moved from 14.5 to 14, so not a lot of movement as of right now. Packers coming off a bye week again. Um they should be uh hard pressed to get a victory here. Will it be an easy victory? Yeah, I'm not sure. I like Joe Flacco, I think he can create a lot of uh moments, right? But if you are bold enough um and you want to pick money line for the Bengals, they are at plus 700. So that'll be pretty interesting. Uh, we'll move on to our next matchup. We got the Niners visiting the Buccaneers, both teams at 4-1. Um, Baker Mayfield versus Brock Purdy question mark, question mark. You know what? Just put in Mac Jones, man. And let's see him swashbuckle and vomit his way to a possible victory on the road again. This is a 4.25 p.m. Eastern time game. So time zone maybe not much of an issue for the Niners, but Tampa Bay is favored by minus three. A lot of eyes are gonna be on this contest as the uh balance for um NFC Supremacy um lies in this contest. 47 and a half is the over-under, and Tampa Bay again at minus three. So that's gonna be pretty cool to watch here. I think that's gonna be a turnover uh situation, meaning that um the game is gonna be on the fringe and on the edges. Um you know, which team can hold their water, right? So you can't turn the ball over. Uh both teams um again coming off of last second victory. So be interesting how the how this game is gonna turn out. Moving on here, we got the Lions at 4 and 1. Now they are the Lions bold, they are going into Kansas City. This is gonna be the um Sunday night um game America uh game uh game of America or whatever they lot it as. Uh, so that will be, I believe, a 7.20 uh start Kansas City time. So we talked about it a lot here on the Big Goodness Football Podcast. Uh Floyd keeps mentioning it a lot, and rightfully so. The Chiefs are a different animal when you play night games at um Arrowhead. I'm gonna use the old name, I don't care. Especially how that noise carries during night games. Big challenge here for the Lions. The Chiefs two and three, but we all know they are the Chiefs, right? Uh don't be fooled. Um, but um, how is Jared Goff gonna handle that um uh spagnola blitz, right? That's always been the constant, right? How to get um this Detroit offense, which I feel is predicated a lot on timing, uh, you know, a lot on rhythm, and they are going against a defense that can do that. Now, they haven't been that infallible unit that they have been for years. I mean, they gave up 31 to Jacksonville, so um definitely there are a lot of uh holes in the armor for Kansas City, but this is gonna be a huge matchup here. If the Lions can get a victory on the road, and then they have been no stranger to playing close games with the Chiefs in the past. Uh I believe they did the opener a couple years ago. Um so um the Lions, they're not afraid of the Chiefs. Uh, but the Chiefs, we'll see. I mean, back's against the wall, right? Uh they can go to two and four, especially how competitive uh the Broncos and the Chargers are. So um I think you're gonna see a very sharp Kansas City team. Um, they get seized the same way, too. They are favored by minus two and a half, over underset at 53. A lot of points. So that's the um uh Sunday night game. And Monday. We got uh two Monday night games here. The early Monday night game is going to be in the ATL. The Falcons coming off of a bye week also at 2-2, facing the Bills at 4-1. Bills are rogue favorites at minus four and a half and the over-under set at 50. So if you're a Falcons fan, um the bye week is great and everything, but you just came off of probably the best performance of the year, especially on offense. Now you have the bye week. So hopefully, if you're a Falcons fan, that they are not out of rhythm at this point. The Bills, I believe, are alpha blood. Usually on Monday night games, they are killers, they are murderers. So beware. And then finally, the second Monday night game, it is Caleb Williams and the Bears coming into uh Northwest Stadium, home of the Washington Commanders, um, site of the uh Hail Mary, right? In fact, the Commanders are supposed to be wearing the black jerseys again. I think they wear the black jerseys only once this whole season during the regular season, and it's going to be against the Bears, almost the ultimate troll job, um, in the same setting, the same uniforms as the uh Hail Mary, right? So I don't have to go in length to explain uh what happened um that time um almost um a year to the year. So commanders at 3-2, Bears two and two. Uh we'll we'll see what happens. I I feel like the Bears have um they've struggled earlier, but they've definitely got in their stride as of late. I think you're gonna see uh points on the board. In fact, Vegas sees the same way too, setting the over-under at 49 and a half, a lot of points. Washington favored by minus four and a half. So if you're feeling a little chancy, um the Bears, if you want the money line, plus 185. Not so bad. Um, but that's what we are right now. Money line for Washington at minus 225. Um, currently um, we've had um 61%. Um, I'm checking this now. I should have done this for the other games, but right now, more 61% of the bets are with Chicago at four and a half points. So, you know the line's gonna change, right? And so if you're a Washington fan and you want to have that double victory of sorts, not only cheering for the team you love, but also making money at the same time, which um I am not going to say it's a good thing or bad thing off of my own personal experiences. Take a breath. Yes, so that's that's with that. Caleb versus Jaden part two at the scene of the crime. So that's all I have here for the week six uh previews. Again, try to do it as fast as I can. I'm checking the time. We are approaching the 90-minute mark. I think this will be a good time to leave off as such. Usually there's gonna be a final word by Floyd. Usually we do the crossover section, but meaning that I'm going solo, there is no one the crossover with. Um, not for episode 112. So uh my final word here. Um all I'm gonna say is that um sometimes you need to savor the small moments. I I think going through life, we you know it's a struggle, right? Everyone is struggling, no matter who you are. I think everybody, uh uh everybody's struggling in their own way. Everyone is grinding, uh, trying to make that you know, make that coin, so to speak. So for some of us, it's a matter of survival. So it's really easy to overlook all of the you know the rigor-marole, the day-to-day, and what you need to do, the responsibilities, bills to pay, all that stuff. Um, sometimes you need to take a deep breath and pause if you're not gonna do the best. Sometimes it is one of those things when you're in the thick of it as far as having fun, you know, hey, you know, sip that champagne, smell those roses, have a laugh, um, enjoy an embrace, um, savor a kiss, whatever it is. It is a small moment that makes it um all the worthwhile. And I just wanted to leave you off with that. For that boy Floyd on assignment in Europe, shouts out to Slade, who was uh my co-host on our Monday night recording. Um, this is Hawaiian Ryan, episode one to over the Big Witness Football Podcast. Please like, share, subscribe, give us that five-star love in all of the podcast platforms. Aloha, until we meet again. Take care, one another.
